JOHN ROBAK

ARTIST BIOGRAPHY

I am a retired art instructor. During my 30 years as an educator, I developed courses for high school students in drawing, painting, cartooning, photography, crafts, film and art history. I also taught drawing and painting in adult education programs and was last employed as a college adjunct, teaching drawing classes. My freelance work includes architectural renderings of historic sites, commercial illustrations, gallery sales, public murals and commissions. My favorite mediums are colored pencil, acrylics and pen and ink.

I illustrated Daniel Doan’s Fitness Program for Hikers and Cross-Country Skiers for the New Hampshire Publishing Company. My book, Easy Lessons in Graphic Arts, was published by J. Weston Walsh.  Additionally, I was one of ten Florida artists selected by a Jacksonville environmental law group to update and reinterpret historic enravings of indigenous Florida tribes. The image above, Timucuan Spring. a 24″ x 32″ acrylic on canvas, is the product of extensive research for that project.

I am a member of the Colored Pencil Society of America, and I have written articles for their magazine, To the Point.

My email address is jwrobak@bellsouth.net.
